Where a 20 KB limit is used
- Signature uploads: many bank-exam forms ask for a signature between 10 and 20 KB (for example IBPS lists 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB). Set the max width to 140 first if the form also fixes pixels.
- Low-limit photo slots: some state portals accept photos only up to 20 KB. Compress the cropped face photo, not the full phone picture.
- Old CSC / e-district forms that time-out on bigger files – a 20 KB file uploads instantly even on 2G.

How to compress to 20 KB
- Choose one or more photos.
- The size is already set to 20 KB – change it if your form differs.
- Optionally set a max width (pixels) if the form fixes dimensions.

Signatures scan best in black ink on white paper. If the result looks grey or blotchy at 20 KB, crop tighter first (with Photo Crop) – fewer pixels means more quality per KB.

Frequently asked questions
Can every photo be reduced to 20 KB?
Yes, but a large phone photo will be scaled down to fit. Cropping to the face or signature first keeps it sharp.
My form says 10–20 KB. Will 20 KB be accepted?
The tool stays at or just under 20 KB, so it fits the upper limit. If it comes out below 10 KB, increase the max width.
Is 20 KB enough for a readable signature?
Yes. A 140 × 60 px signature is usually only a few KB; 20 KB leaves plenty of room.
