How it calculates
Hours worked = end time − start time − break. If the end time is earlier than the start, the shift is treated as running past midnight. Decimal hours = minutes ÷ 60, so 8h 30m is 8.50. Pay = decimal hours × hourly rate, in any currency.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate an overnight shift?
Enter, for example, 22:00 to 06:00. The tool assumes the shift ends the next day.
What’s the difference between 8:30 and 8.5?
8:30 means 8 hours 30 minutes, which is 8.5 decimal hours.
Can I work out overtime?
Compare the weekly total against your overtime threshold, such as 40 hours.
