What is the most common passport photo size?
35×45 mm (ICAO standard), used by the UK, the Schengen area, Australia, India, Japan, Korea and many others. The US and India visas use 2×2 inches (51×51 mm); Canada passports use 50×70 mm; China uses 33×48 mm.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The photo is opened, cropped and saved inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to Crop Desk.
Can I print the photos at home or at a print shop?
Yes. Download the 4×6 inch print sheet, which fits as many copies as possible at 300 DPI, and print it at actual size (100%) on 4×6 photo paper. Check one copy with a ruler before cutting.
What do the coloured guide bands mean?
The green band is where the top of the head (crown) should fall and the red band is where the chin should be. Keeping both inside their bands gives the head height required for the chosen country.
Does this guarantee my photo will be accepted?
No tool can guarantee acceptance. The passport or visa office makes the final decision, and some countries (for example Germany or Canada for paper applications) require photos from certified photographers or captured at the office. Always check the official rules.
